|There is a mountain (Peter's mountain) that I have wanted to climb for some time now, and I did it y-day. It comes at the end of a 63 mile loop. 2 miles up, not sure of the elevation gain or gradient, but the backside is 1.5 miles @ 9pct, so I'm guessing about an 8pct grade or more on the "up" side. Great weather and a really nice ride for 26 miles up a valley that has a very slight grade, then back down the other side of the valley towards the Susquehanna river over some rollers, mostly downhill. Next it was a stop at mom & dad's for the h20/food/pee break, along the river (flat as a pancake), towards the few rollers at the base of the mountain, and then up!, then coast 3 miles to the car. 62.9 miles, 3:29, 18.1 mph. I'll have to do it again soon. I'll have to get a digital camera and post pics of the valley-it should be great in the fall.|

|Hearing ride descriptions such as yours always make me want to move. I'm from Minnesota where the biggest hills within an hour by car for me take about 1-2 minutes to climb.
Thanks for the images though!

|Those 1st 26 miles were through trees that formed a canopy over me. Was absolutely beautiful. However, at the end of that section was the edge of PA coal-mining country. Not very pretty.|| |
