Question- I ordered some Campy Record hubs built up with Open Pro's...they arrived yesterday but when I looked at them they say "9 speed" Will a 10 speed cassette fit on these or am I SOL?
You're fine...TJeanloz

There was no change to Record hubs from 9 speed to 10 speed - it should just be the lockring that's stamped "9 speed" - and that doesn't matter either.

The hubs come with the lockring, not the casetes. So if you are going to use an 11 tooth small cog wich requires a smaller lockring be sure to specify this when you get your cassette.

I hope you got a discount on the wheels. Unless you specify 9 speed, 10 speed is now the Campy standard and even though the parts are functionally the same it seems kind of shady to pass them off without asking. Kinda like ordering a Record TI post and getting one stamped Chorus. Same thing, but not exactly what you ordered.
I don't know,TJeanloz

Campy shipped most "10 Speed" groups with "9 Speed" hubs for almost a year after "10 Speed" came out, and the stamping is just on the lockring. It's like complaining about 9 speed and 10 speed brakes- there wasn't any difference between the two (at least until the single-pivot came out). If I were really anal, I might get a new "10 Speed" lockring, but it really doesn't matter.
Yeah not a really big dealColnagoFE

but sometimes I get a bit anal when I'm paying full price for stuff. I'd at least have asked them about it. Maybe it was Campy's doing, but it could have also been a way for them to move some NOS. Either way no big deal since they are the same hubs. complaining about 9 speed and 10 speed brakes..LOL! NMSpunout

If the lock ring has 9 Speed stampted on it then it is a 26mm dia. thread in the freehub. The newer 10 speed hubs have a 27mm dia. The bottom line is this hub is a 1999 vintage but is identical to a 2002 except the lockring thread dia.
