Flight Deck Wireless??(3 posts)

Flight Deck Wireless??outofthesaddle

I am having a new bike built. I have the option to go with Flight Deck Wireless for $125 installed. Any ideas on better options, i.e. better computer same $$, or same functions and cheaper? I don't care about wired vs. wireless. I have a Flight Deck on my current ride and it is fine but it seems like $125 for basic functionality (no HR) is high.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I'd definitely recommend a HRM like the Polar S510 or 710. Comes with speed, can get optional cadence and power (power has all the attachments such as cadence and speed but is the price of the HRM) then the S710 has altitude. Then you can go home and see super cool graphs of hr speed altitude and whatever add ons. If your gonna get a wireless Flightdeck it almost makes sense to go all the way.

Cheers,
Nick

That actually sounds pretty cool - what would be really
neat is if it had a GPS where it could overlay a map and
show your route, and where your heart rate was spiking the
most, etc.

Are you using the S510/710? How does it get speed from
the bike? Does it mount to the bar or is it a wristwatch
type deal like my Polar A1?
