What are the Odds...hirevR

I get up at 5:20 am and begin to stumble around like a bear straight from hibernation to prepare for my 8.15 mile commute coming up in about 40minutes. I swallowing cereal, a banana, and a steaming cup of high-test when I realize it's 5:50 and Iam still in my jammies. "Time to get ready (droned out a-la dunkin donuts commercial style )." Arm warmers-check! (it's getin nipply here in PA in the morning) Leg warmers-Check! Bibs-Check! Jersey-Check! you get the idea. I begin the armouring of the body all the way to my bag and then I remember....where in the hell is my HR transmitter? Now, I know what your thinking, "You're commuting...who cares!" But on Thursdays, I TT to and from work. And on my way back I join a club training ride in full commut-o gear (the second one is a daily ritual--kinda legendary). Anyway, I start freaking. I don't know why....it's not that important right now and i am gonna be late. I empty my bag, i search the room like a DEA officer. Then i remember, "I did wash last night, I've got to take it out and hang it up." Yes, I had to do it "Now!" That's just me. As i extract the garments i see a snake-like creature inthe bowels of the machine. AHHHHHH! no wait....MY TRANSMITTER!!!! I can't believe i found it!! More importantly, i can't believe i ran it through the wash. See here's the question, "WHaat are the oddds it still works?"
P.s. I was able to leave by 6:19 and I got to school at 6:41.
I'd say good...TJeanloz

Doesn't Polar claim that you can swim with their HRM? I know the units are entirely sealed from water, and they must be designed take ~90+ degrees of heat, so I put the odds at 3:1 that it works.
If it's a Polar you're probably OK since it's sealedColnagoFE

Even if not once it dries out you'll probably be OK. Might need a new battery. My wife ran a remote phone through the wash and after a few days it worked OK (well it always had an annoying echo after that and we replaced it, but it still worked).

If it's a Polar, should be no problem. I used one while swimming for physical therapy and never had a problem....
