I'm pondering my next move. I'm currently living in upstate NY and I'm considering moving out to Boulder or somewhere nearby. What's the cycling, mtn. biking, triathlon scene like in the area? Please let me know if that's a good place to be. Also, it would help to know what the school districts are like as I am a teacher.

there are several on this board. I live just east of Boulder itself.

Be warned: the cost of housing is ridiculously high. Boulder County has a zero-growth initiative, which drives up cost.

As far as the cycling / tri scene, well - that's why so many people (like myself) keep moving out here!

TJeanloz lived here longer than I have and could probably give you a better feel for the general scene. I like it a lot better than Cincinnati, OH (where I grew up).

I love it here--especially for cycling and other outdoor activities, but the cost of living is really high. Schools are plentiful and top-notch, but the competition to teach here is fierce--especially with the economy hitting the skids and lots of people getting teaching certs.
