Really stupid tire/wheel question(3 posts)

Really stupid tire/wheel questionRGR

Okay. Could someone explain the basics of wheel/tire measurements? My wheels are Mavic Open 20 UB, 622 X 13- 6106. My tires are 700 X 23C, and my tubes are 700 X 25C. Any mismatch here?

Thanks. Appreciate all your advice.
Your right it is... jk! :)PODIUMBOUNDdotCA

jk!!! Its a good question... my first question is why do you ask?

But anyhow... there is no mismatch I can see. I'm not sure what the 20 in Mavic Open 20 UB is but the UB is the type of braking surface. Then if I'm not mistaken the the 622 X 12- 6106 could be a standard measurement for the rims. As for the tires they are fine. The only thing I see wrong is the tubes. But I ride on tubes that are too big when I can't find the proper tubes. It hasn't made a difference to me and as long as you put the recommended tire pressure in it shouldn't. The only area it might cause problems though is in mounting the tube if you are not careful.

Cheers,
Nick

as nick said, 622mm is standard rim measurement for a 700c tire. The tube is just an air bladder, so anything close in measurement is fine.
