... he's been a tour fixture for a few years (sometimes shows up on huge bicycles)... and while there are other devils out there... he's the definitive model (he's oftimes seen on TdF tapes at critical points on critical stages).

We abide.

Remain In Light.
He's got a serious vertical leap. (nm)outofthesaddle

It's the first thing I noticed and he is not a fly weight. nm;zray61

if you menatally "unbend" the legs there, and loot at his foot height re the bike - he's doing a great "knees to chest", but hasn't actually got his bulk that far off the ground.

"hell" of a character though, and nice photo.
perhaps he will share his plyometric workout with us. nmC-mond

The Devil's Germanboneman

I met him at last year's Worlds in Lisbon. He makes novelty bicycles which he tows behind his van from event-to-event. Very popular with the fans and spends a lot of time mingling and having his picture taken with them and yes, he's German.

He is featured in a short story by Alexei Sayle (British left wing comedian) in the collection Dog Catcher (pretty new, probably not available in the States, I picked it up on vacation in Britain). The story is about the TdF, and the Devil is an important part. More I will not say, as I wouldn't want to divulge the twist.
