I get up early in the morning and go for my ride. I push myself as hard as I can so I can get better and get my average speed up. Then I come home, clean off and store the bike, eat and settle in for recovery. Eventually I check this forum, and reading it for 20 minutes gives me an uncontrollable urge to go ride again, even though I've already worn myself out and need to rest. Pictures of long winding roads in the countryside, or biking through the city with a Senator, discussions of technique and whatnot. I can't resist. So now I'm off for another ride around the beach this evening. Thanks RoadBikeReview for helping ruin my carefully planned training routine!

You only get stronger during rest, not during the riding. If you get insufficient rest, you are not utilizing the training you did. Discipline, Grasshoppa. :-)

US open on Sunday instead of doing 20 more miles after the 24 I did!-

recovery is the best - i am going to incorporate more of that training as the weather gets colder and colder!
