Change Ksyrium from Shimano to Campy?irregardless
Sep 8, 2002 1:11 AM
Is is possible to change my Ksyrium rear wheel to make it Campy compatible instead of Shimano? If so, can I do it myself (meaning, is it easy to do?), and where can I get the parts? Thanks.

I just made this conversion. I bought the campy freehub from my LBS for $50. It was pretty simple to change and this way I can use genuine campy cassettes.

Perfect. Thanks.

Only the models that were manufactured in late 2000 or later can be changed to the campy compatible cassette body. The older models are shimano only. Be sure that you know which you have before ordering parts that won't fit.

I have the 2000 model. Guess I'll have to do a little research as to late versus early. Thanks for the heads up. You may have saved me $50 or so.

You can get a cassette that fits a Shimano hub but work with Campy cogs. I have been using one on my 01 Ksyriums and it preforms flawlessly.

Check them out on this link.

I've already got a bunch of Campy cassettes that I want to use so at this point switching the hub is easiest and probably cheapest (if it is possible for my 2000 model). Thanks for the recommendation though.
