Flight Deck operating manual on Web?coonass

I have this 500 page, 40 language Shimano manual for the 6501 FD; tells how to calibrate everything except the moon phase, but what it DOES NOT tell you is how to OPERATE the GD thing. What display should you be in to activate the milage, avg.speed, etc. and in what sequences are you to play 'pin ball'with the buttons? Is there any site on the Web that actually has operating instructions, in lieu of calibration instructions?
Thank.

You'll either have shifters with a button on either hood or 2 on the right hood. One button is the mode button and this will change the screens. The other is the start stop button. Now there are 2 main modes then a bunch of sub modes you can scroll through. The first main mode has stuff like your odometer, actual time, riding time from the ride, total distance for the ride, and stop watch which has its own max speed, average speed and distance... the second main mode has stuff like average speed, cadence and I believe main speed. So to switch between these modes you hold down the mode button for a couple seconds until it switches and then cycle by just pressing the mode button.

As for the start stop button if you go into max speed, average speed and press the start stop button with the mode button it resets this plus I believe the total time. If you want to start or stop the stop watch or total ride time you have to cycle to those modes and press the start stop button.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Nick
