Well, now that I am gainfully employed, I've decided it's time to finally purchase a road bike. I've done some research and feel that the DEAN El Diente is the best bang for my buck.

However, I'm not sure as to which size would best suits me. Soooo, I'm asking all of you for your help. I'm 5'10'' with about a 31'' inseam. New to road biking.

The following are the measurements of a 54 and 56, respectively:

54cm | 56cm
Seat tube (c-c): 54 | 56
Seat tube (c-t): 55.3 | 57.3
Top tube: 55.5 | 56.5
Head tube: 135 | 155
Head tube angle: 73 | 73
Seat tube angle: 73.5 | 73
Chain stay: 407 | 410
BB drop: 68 | 68
Stand over: 31.72 | 32.48

Thanks for your help!

go to wrenchscience.com or colorado cyclist.com. They have fit programs that can help narrow your choice down. I have used the wrenchscience .com and found it accurate. Good luck.

Hi there SamDc,

I'm in the same boat (looking at buying a new road bike) and have the same measurements and I have been into a shop and got fitted to a 54cm frame. It was the specialized allez a1 sport 2002 bike. I did try the 56 cm frame and it was tight for the standover and abit long in the top tube. Hope this helps for what its worth.
