hey guys,

well now that I am picking the bike up in less then a week I have been trying to work out a schedule for how much I will be riding it. Here is what I have come up with so far. Let me knows what you guys think and what I should change on it, I am hoping to average 25km/hr is that to high, to low? On my mountain bike i avg about 20 on the road.

Monday - 28km (1 hr)
Tuesday - 50km (2 hr)
Wednesday - 50km (2 hr)
thursday - rest day
friday - 25km (1 hr)
saturday - 50km in the morning (2 hrs), short mountain bike ride iwht intervals in the evening, about 20 minutes.

and i notice that, just as any good athlete, you are varying your schedule, with some rest.
I think you need to increase your Thursday workout nmrwbadley

Not knowing what is it that you are training for, the Captains plan seems to be just as good as yours. For a serious reply, elaborate your goals.

25mi/hr is high, 25km/hr is not. Assuming no cycling experience, a goal of 25km/hr (for one hour) can be easily attained in max couple of months with simply a 1 hr Sa ride and 1 hr Th ride.

Dont bother too much about goals right now. Just get a feel of the bike and enjoy your ride.
