| **Ciclosport Computer Questions** | Psalm 147-10_11
*Sep 4, 2002 11:52 AM* | | I bought a Ciclosport 414 computer and have found that the average speed is 0.4 mph slower than what it should be. When I first put it on the bike, I left the old Specialized computer attached. At the end of a ride, the distance is exactly the same, the time is exactly the same, but the average speed off. When I calculate the average manually, I find the Specialized is accurate and the Ciclosport is not.
Anybody else have this computer and notice this? |

I have noticed from computer to computer, different companies, they have different values listed for same sizes such as 700x23. They are only giving an average they have found. Different brands and models of the same size tire will actually vary in circumference..whether this explains all of your variance, I know not, but suspect so. But rereading your post, if the mileage is shown on both as the same, and time, they should read the same. They do their "work" by integration , using possibly different time intervals to integrate over. The smaller the interval, the more accurate it should be. Over a long ride, two computers using different integration intervals could read differently. |
