Just got a new set of each, but had questions about the Carnac adapter plate.

1) The insert that came with the adapter said to attach the cleats to the plate with the screws that came with the pedals, but the screws with the pedals are too short to work. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do? If you just used screws from the local hardware store, did you use anything special?

2) The cutout where the rear of the old cleat used to sit causes the rear of the new cleat to "float" ~5mm above the adapter plate. Is Carnac going to come out with a new plate to correct for this?

Thanks!

I think you misread re: the Carnacs. From what I remember it said to use the screws that came with the adapter and not the screws that came with the cleat.

with my sidi shoes. I went to the hardware store and got the next longer screws. Nothing special, just stainless steel metric screws. They have bigger heads also and hold the cleat better than those whimply ones supplied by Time. I'm using the time cleat, slim plastic shim and sidi/look adapter plate. I don't think this interface is as acurrate as it could be. I seem to be experiencing a side to side cantering with this setup. That is the outside of my right foot sits lower than the inside. This puts some pressure on my knee. I'm gonna try some insole patches to see if that helps. I don't think sidi has the new impact adapter plate yet but I will try that when they come in. Great pedal otherwise. Very light and they hold you rock solid once your in......
