What can I put in it to get rid of the "plastic taste"?

...reservoir will do. Fill the reservoir AND the drink tube and let sit over night. Drain and rinse well. That should do it! Personally, I don't think the genuine CamelBak has a plasticky taste.

Actually i use platapus have't had a bad tast yet that i didn't put into it

does wonders - I hit my grand-dad up for a few Efferdent (sp?) tablets when I feel the need to clean my CamelBack reservoir(s). Works like a charm.

I use those Polident(sp) denture tablets in my CB reservoir; drop in 3-4 into warm water, lets sit for abit,drain it through the drinking tube to clean it out as well, then rinse it out w/ cold water. Works great!
