Hey all,
I'm considering buying a Look KG 381i (so nice!). But one thing that worries me is that the bike is carbon tubes bonded to aluminum lugs. I've heard in the past that the bonds can come unglued. Is this still a problem today? Has it happened to anyone with a Look frame? Hopefully you guys will be able to put my fears to rest. Thanx for any help!

Back in the mid-80's, LOOK, TVT, and Vitus had problems with carbon/aluminum bonds. LOOK fixed the problem in the early 90's. I have 3 LOOK frames and have owned many others
and haven't had a problem with any of their bonds.

Buy a Calfee and you won't have that worry.
Depends on which Calfee...PsyDoc

...for example, on the dragonfly, Calfee uses aluminum in the BB and the headtube.

Think about it this way - Are you riding a carbon fork? It most likely has aluminum dropouts bonded to the fork legs. Ever worried about those? With todays methods, nothing to worry about.

Look has this down to a science. I've had my kg 271 for 2 yrs now and no problems.I also know of 2 riders w/kg 171's (older Looks) that have had no problems.
