Clipless pedals...(7 posts)

Clipless pedals...liebejungen

I am also looking to find a deal on Clipless pedals and shoes this weekend. They are for my Trek 7500Fx. Can anyone give advice as to what to look for, what pedals they prefer or that i should stay away from? I am looking for something that isn't too expensive, but that also works well.

Thanks

I am happy with my Shimano SPD pedals. They are easy to get in and out of, and I don't have "hotfoot" problems like I have heard from some smaller pedals.(tho these are smaller than Look). Most of my club uses SPD. You should be able to find a good price as I think they are the most popular. I thought I wanted LOOK but after reading and talking to some people, the cleats on LOOK seem to wear out pretty quick(I think they are plastic instead of the metal SPD). Hope this helps.

Lookes like the Shimano A515 are SPD and they are pretty economical...

My wife and I are quite happy with our SPDs. They work well and we have had no problems with "hot spots".

You have to get the sampson cleat. Doubt if you can find it. Very unusual since the cleat extended downwards and made it impossible to walk on.
