I recently had this ProFit pedal, which is totally useless.
My mechanic said that he heard this happens occasionally, but this was first time he actually saw it. Oh well, people make mistakes....

Are the threads right side threads or is it a regular pedal with just an R instead of an L?

They look like R threads to me! Boy, would that ever f#%k up a new set of Record Carbon cranks!

The pedal is useless because it has the wrong threading and cannot be mounted on the designated left crank arm. (You could put it on the right crank arm, however, the pedal would face backward.) Is it fixable?
Just needs a new 'L' axle to fix this(NM).Spunout

If you have a pair of pedals with two "L" axles, then you need an "R" axle to put in one of them. Assuming you bought these pedals, it seems like you should take them back to where ever and exchange them. I have swapped pedal axles on purpose when I wanted to put them on a kid-back tandem set up that did not have the standard "reverse thread" cranks (right on left and left on right).
you just need to change your pedaling style.(nm)rufus

First thing you do is break your right leg below the knee. Then reset the leg with your right foot pointed backwards. In six weeks the problem is solved. Or you could just wimp out and send the pedal back for one with the correct axle but where's the challenge in that?
