what are the inner levers of the record shifters made out of?

The fine line between plastic and carbon is being walked by Campagnolo. But it is a fiberous composite, though not woven as we know carbon fiber to be (I know because I've seen them broken in half- not cleanly).

Most "carbon fibre" is really just loose carbon fibre's in the 3 to 5 mm range glued together like fibreglass.
Carbon forks are truely wound fiber, kinda like the inside of a golf ball, held together with the same stuff as above.
But that pretty checkered stuff is just a single layer for show.
Don't like it (or the look) myself. Cheesy.
