|Most "carbon fibre" is really just loose carbon fibre's in the 3 to 5 mm range glued together like fibreglass.
Carbon forks are truely wound fiber, kinda like the inside of a golf ball, held together with the same stuff as above.
But that pretty checkered stuff is just a single layer for show.
Don't like it (or the look) myself. Cheesy.
