Anyone heard retail prices for trek 5200 framesets or C/dale caad7 framesets? I'm fixin' to ask at the shops and want to know if what I'm quoted is reality or not. Bethel Cycle's webpage quoted 2200 for a caad7 frame; what is that - did they add gold to the alloy mix? Thanks!

I know that have a few older OCLV frames for ~1,000 and last year standard OCLV frames for 1,200 or 1,300. On a side note, how do they get away with mail order based on trek's policy ? I would be hesitant to mail order a trek frame until I comfirmed warranty issues with trek. I called R&A once and asked them about selling treks and the mail order thing, the employee bluntly said I had no idea what I was talking about as Trek has no such policy regarding mail ordering bikes . . . I never followed up with trek myself . . .
Trek own bikes stores open in San Diego....Bruno

Trek operates bike stores in San Diego. You call them to get the MSRP and work from there. After Performance bought BikeUSA there were no Trek distributors left in the huge San Diego market so Trek decided to open its own bike shops.

The CAAD7 frame they're offering is most likely the version including the Cannondale $800 dollar or whatever costing SI Hollowgram cranks.
