a reason Hamilton crashes a lot...lonefrontranger

I'll bet Graham Watson has tons of "wasted" shots where he's got his head down.

Over the years, I've watched quite a bit of taped footage of Hamilton riding, and it looks like the guy's head is mounted on a swivel. Watch him in an ITT; about every 20 pedalstrokes he drops his head and looks at his top tube, all the while his bike looks like it's chasing butterflies. In the pack, you will often see him looking around and everywhere but where he's going. Couple that with the fact that he rides like a squirrel on crack (one of those guys who's bike direction is dictated by pedaling input) and he tends to go full-out aggro at all possible moments, and you get a lot of crashing. Not to denigrate the guy; he's a phenomenal rider, but I'm sure that even if he did race in USPRO or national calendar crits, Jonas Carney would anoint him with the dubious honor of "That Guy":

Even in this pic, he's got his trademark bandages on. It also seems that an attack is going up the left side while his attention is elsewhere...

Reminds me of an early 90's Armstrong. Tyler has a lot of polishing to do but he has tons of talent. If he cleans up some of these habits we could have another amercian TDF contender.

Tyler's career:
"He needs to start kicking someone's ass other than his own . . . ."

That picture looks about as close to proof as I could ever come up with.

I also seem to remember hamilton wearing a different jersey in the tdf this year. Yep, he rides for CSC now, which means that the picture was from last year.

I think the debate was over Usps using Bontrager wheels this year, as opposed to Mavic, who was their sponsor last year.
that what I was talking aboutcyclejim

Yesterday I think I posted that news about Tyler breaking his collarbone. This is the best explanation I have seen thus far... lol. Just think, if it werent for all of those Giro crashes.... (should woulda coulda!)

nice post
