|I've found it at a local vitamin store on sale for about $12 a bottle, and my LBS now carries it too. The higher level of complex carb's versus Gu and most other gel's generates a longer, better controlled glycogen release into the blood. Other products have high simple carbohydrates that give you a quick blood sugar spike that is followed by a quick insulin reaction, which lowers blood sugar dramatically.
I like the apple cinnamon flavor the most. It tastes like grandma's delicious apple pie! I have yet to taste any gel or bar that is as good.

|you can buy Maltodextrin from beer supplier for 2$/lbs. Needs to be slightly deluded 1lbs makes 20oz, mix your own flavors I use plain. Same thing as hammergel and cost a fraction.|

|I ran into electrolyte deficiency on 600km brevet and the guy I rode with gave me 3. It revitalized me in 20min, stomach processed all Gatoraid it was bloated with and cramps were gone. Since then I always carry some.|

|I bought some when I ordered a bunch of Hammer gel last winter on sale. I really like them -- they make a difference. I even feel that I recover faster after a long ride. A bottle lasts a long time. Did a century yesterday in hot weather. All I drank was water along with endurolytes. Lots of sweating, no cramping.|

|Buy only the carbo replacement items (read: food) and stay away from the ergogenic items (read: supplements).
The jury is still out on whether such ergogenic (magic pills) supplements actually do anything.
I received a catalog and associated sales propaganda and although they have a Ph.D on their board all their evidence is anecdotal.

|I use both and think that they help. The Hammer Gel is economical and keeps my energy level and state of mind more stable than Gu, etc. Since I've started using Endurolytes on longer rides I've had no more problems with cramps and find it easier to stay hydrated. There are probably other products that work as well and some of them may work better for you. These two and Ultima replacement drink work for me and I'll continue using them.|

|I use the Hammer Gel....love it, works great for me
Endurolites.....don't work for me...make me feel really lathargic (sp?) for about an hour and messed up a few races for me.

|I have been using the enduro & race caps for about 10 years now.
Yup IMHO they work
I started using them back in 92 when I was doing some tri's
I have tried both with & without them & yes there is a big difference when I use them.
Not that I feel so much faster but I seem to recover very quickly when doing day after day type miles.
When I don't take them it seems like fatigue is cumulative after a few weeks of training.
Yes I eat well & rest well but this seems to help quite a bit. I wish they didn't to tell you the truth. They are not cheap & I have gone months without them only to return.
Your milage may vary but they offer a full 30 day money back so no harm in trying. But watch out you may get hooked ;-)
