|I was riding tonight and happened to come across a nice crome Klien adjustable wrench (no relationship to Klien bikes I am sure). It was like new despite the couple of scrapes from its run the the pavement before it rested on the shoulder. Of course I picked it up. An extra tool for the box. What have you found while riding?? Bags of money, tools, dead bodies, Thought it might be an interesting topic.

|I found a whole roll of quarters (at a stoplight) tonight! Woo Hoo! Now I can tell the old lady I'm getting PAID to ride my bike.|

|- A Leafs Flag during the Stanley Cup playoffs and an Italian flag during the World Cup. Perhaps it was an omen because both teams were eliminated well before the finals. We wore the flags for the rest of the ride though.|

|I just cannot ride past any American Flag on the ground - I HAVE to pick it up - following protocol. As such, I now have about 40 flags.
I guess people use their automatic windows without thinking as I also have 4 flags with the plastic part as well.

|I found a buck style knife with holster. The knife was a cheap Asian imitation of a real knife. It had a nonworking compass in the handle. It looked like it may have become dislodged from the belt of a leather clad motorcyclist.
I took the knife into a gas/market and told them one of their customers must have lost it in the parking lot.
Not much else lately... a used prophylactic at our local lovers lane area (Windy Hill) yuck.

|Leatherman, Crescent wrench, dozens of American flags||cory|

|Found a Leatherman tool and a big (headset size) Crescent wrench. For a few months beginning about two months after Sept. 11, though, the No. 1 thing was American flags. Dozens of them, blown off cars. Do you suppose the sacred symbol of national blah blah blah was just a trendy automotive accessory after all?|

|I ran over one a couple weeks ago. At 25mph it looked like a bike chained streched out across the road until I was right on top of the poor guy. At least it wasn't the duck who layed down and stretched his neck out on the blind curve in the bike path. That one got a bit hairy but all survived with only elevated adrenaline.

|There was a story in our local club paper about a guy who was riding early one morning and saw a rattler sleeping on the road. As he rode by, the snake struck. Thankfully, it hit his rear tire. He said he rode about a 1/2 mile up the road before he changed his flat.|

|A pair of Lance signature edition Oakley's laying next to a used tube and a spent CO2 cartridge. Rode back by an hour and a half later and they were still there. Still feel guilty about hanging on to them but couldnt stand the thought of the getting smashed by a car.|

ahhh...poetic justice...sometimes the best kind.
PS: you picked up the cartridge and old tube as well right?

|The last major thing I found was a huge steel stake. I picked it up and rode with it until I could find a safer place to dump it.
I'm less inclined to pick up useless junk at the moment, as I move to a new house this coming weekend.

|It was in a few pieces, but the battery and keypad (same model as mine) were both still good. The numbers on my keypad are wearing off, so now I have a spare.
