Camelbak Rocket Gel Pocket(5 posts)

Camelbak Rocket Gel Pocketastrobiker

Just got a Camelbak Rocket and it is advertised as having a gel pocket on the sternum strap. It is a little mesh square pocket with the corner cut off. It doesn't have any velcro closures, just the cut corner. The only thing I have figured out how to put in this thing is a map rolled up to the size of a fat cigaret! None of my get pacs will go into it - does somebody know how to use this thing!?
Squeezing the gel into there won't work?menachite

It gets pretty sticky after a few uses though.

I use HammerGel and the flask fits perfectly in the rocket's little mesh pocket. The pocket has elastic around the openings, maybe your elastic is just tight.

Oh - DUH! So my question was even dumber than I thought! Sure enough - the little hole is elastic! Kinda tight - but I could in fact squeeze the gel pak right in if I stretched it a little - THANKS!

Gu or Cliff GEl fit in well. A little snug but that's what holds it in. I've had mine for two years and really like it. If not use the tri trick and slip the Gu inside your pant leg. That way it even stays warm for easier digestion. On long rides I do both. Good luck.
