|Does anyone have any feedback on the breathing training tool from Performance called the PowerLung. I am thinking of getting it. HOwever, at $90.00 I would like to hear what you thought of it first.

|No idea if these work, but I think they are similar to those devices they give people in the hospital that have a heart attack or similar to build up the lungs after being on a resiprator for a long time. For an able lunged person I'm not sure what they'd do. Seems like my lungs get plenty of a workout doing intervals already.|

|Coincidentally, I just read a study in the Journal of Exercise Physiology Online testing the effectiveness of these devices. The short answer is that the Power Lung will strengthen your respiratory muscles over time but that there has been no measurable performance effect in terms of an increase in VO2 max, time to exhaustion, etc. The researchers suggested that ramp tests longer than the 12 minutes which were used in the study might reveal more meaningful performance data.|
