| Question - Michelin Pro Race Tire | grizzly bear Aug 20, 2002 6:39 PM | | Has anyone had any experience with the Michelin Pro Race tires? How well do they wear? Are they prone to getting cuts in the outer casing like the Axil Pro's? |
| re: Question - Michelin Pro Race Tire | WCC Aug 20, 2002 6:47 PM | | ive got a several hundred miles on mine with little visible wear. these are also more cut resistant than the old Axials. im pleased |
| re: Question - Michelin Pro Race Tire | spc15 Aug 20, 2002 7:04 PM | | I have put approx 1500 miles on mine and so far, so good... They are wearing well with no flats. A few minor cuts,(sometimes you can't avoid those) other than that they are working & wearing great |
| re: Question - Michelin Pro Race Tire | garhead Aug 21, 2002 2:29 AM | | I've got 1200 miles on mine & no flats, very little wear & NO cuts! Now that I've written this I am sure I'm in for a weekend of flats! :) |
| What's the difference b/w Pro Race and Axial Pro? | Fez Aug 21, 2002 4:47 AM | | The website basically says increased cut resistance. Anyone ridden both tires and have a preference? |
| What's the difference b/w Pro Race and Axial Pro? | spc15 Aug 21, 2002 5:30 AM | | Honestly, I cannot really tell the difference between the two tires, other than the fact that I seem to have less flats with the Pro Race tire. They also say that the Pro Race has less rolling resistance as well, but, again I cannot tell the difference. I will continue to purchase the Pro Races because of the seemingly increased sturdiness. |
| re: Question - Michelin Pro Race Tire | firstrax Aug 21, 2002 5:48 AM | | 4800 miles and got my first flat monday. I probobly wore them down more than I should have. A new pro race is on the way.
Note: 1/4 of my miles are on rollers. I dont think rollers wear tires as fast. So it might be safe to say they really have 3600 miles. |
| You must weigh as much as a helium balloon . . . | Look381i Aug 21, 2002 7:53 AM | | or the Pro Races are really durable. I used to get about 2500 out of the old Axial Pros, so I wasn't expecting much more from the Pro Races. I weigh 170, so my mileage is probably less than a lighter rider's . . . |
| Same experience | BipedZed Aug 21, 2002 8:25 AM | | I weigh 145 and finally replaced my Pro Races with new Pro Races after 4500 miles. Not because I had to, but because I was freaked out by how much mileage I was getting out of them and couldn't believe they could still be reliable. I'm sure they were, but I do a lot of training races on them. |
