and he let that interfere with the business of getting to the starting house on time. He was rolling around reflecting and lost track and probably the tour as well.

No I don't think so because the year he rode for Reynolds he pulled out of the TDF when his mother died.

1987 is the year his mother died. 1988 is when he won it and Big Mig was on his Banesto team. Funny thing is, I've still got that one on VHS that I taped back then. Yikes!
