Vote for Hincapieroadcyclist

Go to www.clifbar.com to vote in the "Beyond the Podium Award". Candidates are USPS Cycling Team domestiques.
I was originally going to vote for Heras, but as my wife pointed out - Heras was also "protected" all day until the mountain-top finishes, George was out in front pulling the train.

the award is to US Postal Pro Cycling Team rider who contributed the most to this year's Tour
Herras contribution was essential, where Hincapie did what any other domestique. Yes George pulled alot on flats and he did his best to stay on in mountains, just like everyone else. Ekki was pulling as much as George, would you vote for him or he doesn't count 'cause he isn't born in USA?
Totally Heras.Sintesi

His performance in the mountains was like Ullrich for Riis or Lemond for Hinault. The whole USPS team rocked and GH rode brilliantly, but I don't think there are many people on the planet who could duplicate what Heras did.

yep, herras would have been a GC contender if he wasn't lance's domestique, can you say the same of the other posties?

Heras himself said something to the effect that this was his easiest tour yet, because the team set him up so well. His whole day was the last 5K, which is why he was hired. So you could say that he met expectations and therefore did nothing extraordinary at all.

Hincapie, on the other hand was not expected to be with Armstrong at the foot of the last climb. He wasn't expected to pull up that last climb. And yet, there he was. No offense to Heras, but Hincapie's work was more impressive to me.
voted for chechuyeah right

I thought in terms of being under appriciated, he was the one. his salary is also probably a lot smaller than gh or heras. heras did a great job setting up lance, and gh did really, really well, but it seemed like they kinda saved him for that too. i though chechu was probably the best in terms of general purpose domestique.
Agree he was underappreciated in most commentary. nmscottfree

Pretty good arguments all around. Got to admire the the evenhandedness of the RBR peanut gallery. ; )
Puzzling that Floyd Landis, for God's sake, has morescottfree

You also didn't hear too much about Ekimov (Russia), Joachim (Luxembourg), Padrnos (Czech Republic), or Pena (Columbia).
