I am too lazy to post the pictures again on this site, you can go see them, I made a webpage at
www.vision.caltech.edu/pmoreels/CoolBreezeCentury081702/

Conclusions of the day:
- a triple crankset is really great. On flats, plenty of people pass me, but I pass them again when they are painfully pushing the pedals while climbing hills.
- a bike that is the right size is als really great, my back was not hurting after the ride.

What a great ride! The beach views, the multi-million dollar mansions of Monticito and Hope Ranch, the food. Although the sun never came out, it was perfect Century weather. Thanks for the photos. The couple on the tandem are members of the club I belong to. The family on the triple you wrote about are also in my club. The group I was in finished in just over 5 hours riding time, and would have been much faster but 2 of our group had mechanical problems that slowed them a bit. I highly recommend this ride to anyone looking for well-supported Century with lots of good food at every rest stop, and a sit-down pasta feast at the finish.
would you mind taking a picture for me ?PeterRider

... of the triple people, if they are in your club ? When I saw them, I immediately wanted to take a picture and post it on the page, but junior jumped out of the bike too fast in direction of the restrooms or the food, so I didn't want to bother them.

The sun came out while I was on the last leg ! Probably you were too fast to see that :)
