SPD's on Sidi Energy road shoes??ATLien

Does anyone know if you can use SPD cleats (not SPD-R's) with Sidi Energy shoes? My Energy's came with SPD-R and Look plates, so I'm wondering if I can mount my SPD cleats on the SPD-R adaptor. The Sidi booklet only shoes mounting instructions for SPD-R cleats.

I have both Look/SPD pedals on my bikes and would like to be able to swap without investing in a new pair of shoes.

I believe that the adapters are the same for the Energy and Genius shoes. If so, you can get a regular SPD adapter. I have some on my Genius 4's. I think that you can even get them from Performance.

I don't think that you can mount an SPD cleat to an SPD-R adapter.

I use Sidi Dynamic with SPD.I needed to use an adaptor plate for the standard SPD cleats. The plate came with the shoes if I remember. It makes it a bit awkward to clip in at times but you get used to the feel after awhile.Hope this helps.
