|Endurox R4 Tangy Orange = Kinda nasty. Better flavors?||wilsonc|

|I just got a tub of it and frankly, unless the Tangy Orange is ICE cold (so you cant taste it), it just doesnt taste so good.
Are any of the other flavors of endurox R4 any better?
I dont know if i'm going to keep using it because i really dont find that much of a performance/recovery difference while using it. I figure i can get the same/more protein and carbs with a large glass of milk followed by a couple of cups of OJ. Then a good meal.
Does anybody find any of the other brands of recovery drinks taste/function better?

|all the Endurox's and Accelerade's taste funny. It's the damn whey. To get the protein, they used whey which gives it that chalky flavor. I only use it post ride and slam it ice cold. (I have the LemonLime, not much better)
For rides I prefer Cytomax (Orange or Citrus) or Extran. For a better post ride drink I use Designer Whey Strawberry Smoothie Powder with OJ/Bananas and Strawberries. Far more satisfying.

|Yes, I agree. The orange is nasty. The fruit punch flavor is actually pretty good. As far as being able to get the same protein and carbs out of milk etc... Of course you can. I only buy the Endurox when it is on super sale at Performance (usually 25 bucks for the big jar). It is a much more convienient and palatable way to get some extra calories and good stuff after a long workout. I would only use the Endurox as an after workout drink. Endurox and Accelerade seem to cause quite a bit of GI distress during exercise.|

|The stuff tastes tolerable but goes down like sweet, pink chalk. I drink Ultima, which doesn't taste that great either, but never makes me nauseous, and eat Balance Bars for protein. When a long ride or run is over, I eat solely for pleasure and there are no energy foods that please me enough to get on the menu!|

|I find the Fruit Punch flavor totally undrinkable. I wound up mixing it with fruit juice to mask the flavor. The Orange flavor is actually ok to my taste. I've used both Endurox and Accelerade, and did experience some post-exercise flatulence, which was more amusing than troublesome.|

|I use the fruit punch flavor because that is the stuff that goes on sale. It tastes so bad it almost made me gag the first time I tried it. I found that if you mix it with Crystal Lite lemonaid that it is very drinkable. I have actually grown to like the taste.|

|I use the Endurox Fruit Punch only as my first post ride drink.Initially I found it awful when anything but ice cold so now what I do is I blend the 2 scoops and the 12 oz of water but when I'm done I also throw about a pint glass worth of ice into the blender and fire it up for 10 more seconds.Doing this , I actually really look forward to drinking it.You might want to try it to see if it works for you.|

|The powder tends to clump and I don't like hassling with a blender, so I started putting a few ice cubes in the bottle to help bust up the clumps when I shake it up. The cold temperature really helped make the stuff palatable. I wouldn't say I look forward to it, but I don't mind it at all now. And, whether real or placebo, I do find it helps if I'm riding again the next day.

|I just came home and mixed up the Lime version, which I like the best out of all them becuase the taste is not as overwhelming. Mixes well too.|| |
