|LBS says it'll be about $600 for a new C'dale CAAD 5 through their frame trade-in deal. Does this sound right?
I read one thread on here about the CAAD 5 trade-in deal and one guy said he only had to pay $400-$500.
What do you think- push for a better deal?
I live in Bellingham Washington, if anyone knows any great bike shops I should talk to.

|If so, check gvh bikes.com. $610 for the CAAD 5 frame, even better deal if you build it up with Ultegra.
And what do they do with the tradein frames? Send them to underpriviledged kids?

|Vancouver, BC shops sells for $900 CAD, no trade-in? So $600 w/ trade seems a little high.|

|gvhbikes.com has CAAD5's for $600 new, no trade in required.
Save your old frame - it may come in handy some day, for a rain bike, race bike or whatever. Thatway your CAAD5 frame will always look new!

|I have been researching...LBS in my area [Dallas] said closeout on caad5 was $650.00 with no frame trade-in. That's about $700 with sales tax, and you get a warranty. I don't know whether or not I want to wait out Cdale offering the caad7 as frame only - and I'm thinking I want a caad5 over a caad7 anyway, dent-wise that is. That makes the gvh deal look pretty good to me. I want to build up with record or chorus and the kit prices are good + gvh does all the work.
Decisions, decisions...Let us know what you do.

|A nice set-up... it's my fair weather commuter/lunchtime bike. Though, it reminds me why I like my Litespeed for longer rides.|

|by my lbs several months ago regardng the frame trade in deal. Sure this would have been a caad5 too. Your shop price sounds like a good deal to me. I ended up getting a complete 2003 caad7, better investment in my situation.

|in the LA area, they were selling closeouts for 599 (last year's model), but selection was limited to what was left in stock. I think technically this might have been a trade in price, but many LBS won't actually require a trade-in. I got one with the full carbon fork, which is a good upgrade option, for $699, then had to go for a new year model for a better size, which was around 800 (with the better fork).
I'd ask your LBS about a price on the caad5 with the all carbon fork.Personally, I don't think most riders are as good as this bike, so waiting for yet more bike seems a bit off to me. The caad5 is a great frame--light, super stiff, and I find it very comfortable. I've been racing on it for the past few months (cat2) and find it great
