VeloNews says Telekom has or is close to getting Salvodelli... are they throwing in the towel on Ullrich? I hate to say it but Ullrich's future in the sport looks really in doubt. He has a lot less mental fortitude than I thought he had, though undenialable physical skill. A knee operation was deemed successful but where is on motivation?. Telekom seems to be covering its' ass with the Salvodelli signing. Poor Jan has a long way to go.

Salvodelli becomes a Heras-level domestique... Respected, supported as primary rider at the Giro. If no Jan, Telekom has a grand tour (Giro) contender.

Salvodelli is no franchise guy. He's great rider who with a bit of luck (as in Garzelli, Simoni and Casagrande all being booted from the Giro) can win or place high but he's not even in the same league as Jan. I'm more surprised Telekom is able to sign these high profile guys in lieu of all their financial troubles. Why would a public company going down the toilet want to keep a top level professional team? Especially one that has garnered quite a bit of negative publicity in recent months. I'm glad they going on but I don't know how many more seasons they got left.
