|Do Power Gels and comparable products go bad? Can they be frozen without destroying them? I just got a load of them at 3/$1 because the best by date is September. I figure if they will last, I will seriously stock up. If anyone is interested in this kind of a deal, check your local dollar stores.|

|They start out nice it's all the sugar and caffeine that turns them bad.
Sorry bored if you can't tell
|Nah, sugar = acid = preservative||jose_Tex_mex|

|I doubt it. I would stock up and enjoy. I had some from at least 2 years back and they were fine. It's like in jam - sugar is so acidic it acts as a preservative.|

|Took one of my older leftover ones and took a gulp without tasting first...that was the worst tasting thing ever. People say casually that something tastes like shit -- well in my case I have a pretty good reason to say that the old gel might just tasted like shit, literally.
Ruined my ride. One of a kind taste, that's for sure.
|I've had them get "lumpy" before...yuck! (nm)||ColnagoFE|

|At about 6 months past the date, the gels can get lumpy, I've had them before, not tasty.
