Just got a new computer and some gloves from them. Guess what they put a cliff bar for me in the box, now thats cool. Actually tri-zone dot com did the same a while back. Thats great service, does the LBS give you a choc bar?

Either way its cool to get a bit more than you ordered. But it could also be a marketing thing that Cliff Bar is doing. If you think about it its kinda smart cus if your ordering stuff online your already spending money so your exactly the kind of person Cliff Bar wants to try their product.

I am sure you are right and that cliff bar give the bars to be put in there, not specialized or tri-zone buy them to add to your order. A sticker on the bar says happy riding from cliff bar. Oh well cool.
Nothing wrong with that! That's a nice touch. nmSintesi

Yep, and about a week from now you'll get a mini size bar and a buy one get one free coupon in the mail(at least I did). Cliff bar is working the Specialized customer list pretty hard.
I knew it! I should go into marketing :) (nm)PODIUMBOUNDdotCA

Think of it this way... why would they put in an energy bar when they could put in a water bottle or something specialized? It doesn't mean its a bad practise but it's probably a deal between Cliff and Specialized. Its a win win situation for everyone though. The customer is happy, which is good for Specialized and Cliff gets their product known.

About a year back I ordered some tires from them and they threw in a water bottle.

I really think the accessoreis specialized makes are high quality. And there customer service is great.

Its the little kicks that count. It helps out both companies and makes you happy. Yeah. I used to work in a warehouse and one company put lifesavers in all their boxes. We would open them up and take them before resealing the box and passing it on. LOL I can just see what would happen if a roll ever got through. We might have had a lynching. Enjoy your Cliff bar Enjoy Life and as always

They'd brew up a batch of little Cliff bars laced with nicotene, and distribute them to LBS's around the country to hand out. Pretty soon there would be cyclists waking up in the middle of the night thinking "boy, I sure could use a Cliff bar". This along with Camel back including a coupon for a free Nicotene water. Anyone ever make their morning coffee with caffiene water by the way?

Can you tell I'm an addict? And not only to cycling.

Seriously though, Cliff should do the same for LBS to hand out..not just the mail order guys.

You are right they should do it for the LBS. I mean the LBS sell the cliff bars.
