anybody using anything other than the shimano or campy pads? ie: kool stop or avid or something?

good results?

I've used Ritchey Logic pads in the past and they are also exceptional.

I'd buy them again w/o hesitation.

Black KoolStop cartridge pads. Work great. I've also used Tektro pads, and they worked well but wore fairly quickly.

I thought I was going to have to replace my rims after seeing the horrible shape they were in from running Shimano pads. I took a ScotchBrite pad to them and bought brand new DuraAce pads figuring I would be "good to go" - NOT. Those pads totally lunched on my rims.
Did the ScotchBrite trick on the rims again and switched to black KoolStops, what a difference! Rims look great after about 500 miles (so do the pads) and I have no problem stopping.
I should have known right away to go to KoolStops...they are the only pad I will use on my MTBs. Now the ONLY pads I will use on my road bike!
