Motivation and me(3 posts)

I'm not sure if it's the same for anyone else, but I have trouble with motivating myself to get biking. This year I didn't really start biking until just a week ago. This seems to be the normal pattern for me and I'd like to change it. Now I usually keep up my biking well into the winter. The past few have been good. Last year it didn't snow until Jan.

But after too much snow comes it's impossible to bike. And then all my motivation is drained away. I know that once I get myself going I'll keep it up. It's those first few rides that are the hardest. What does everyone else to get out there at the beginning of the season.

Suggestion: get a trainer so you can ride indoors in the winter and you'll still
have your legs in shape so when spring hits you'll find it easier to get out there.

My big problem right now is the fact that I can ride before work. But the weather
has been rather rainy so I just don't bother.

If I ride after work I usually get some flack from the wife who wants to go on
rides but they tend to be slower, shorter than I prefer. Oh well, at least she
rides now!

i mean if you haven't started biking until now it seems you don't really like it. why force yourself? the main cycling season is nearly over where i'm from. pretty soon it'll be fall riding and cyclocross. i know personally that after a winter riding in the snow and on the trainer i'm raring to go when the weather warms up.
