|when are new bikes normally introduced? i think i want to snag a closeout as the '03 bikes are coming in. the time for this should be soon, especially with the end of the race season and cooler weather approaching. correct?|

|Shimano has pretty effectively prohibited introduction of anything cutting edge until the Interbike Show in Stptember or October or whenever it is. Most of the manufacturers have been rolling out their run-of-the-mill stuff whenever they sell out the last year's models.|

|Like spokewrenched stated, october september is the best time. I bought four bikes this way. Two years ago I got a mtb Fisher sugar at dealer costs (kick back from fisher). The manufacture wants to clean inventory, so they give the bike shop a cheap price.
If you wait until November most bikes are in the sizes that don't sell well. This summer my local lbs started early clearing his cannondale because the 2003 models were delivered in june. I saved $300 on my jekyll. He's closing out his 2002 road bikes now.
