|i have the chance to buy a used 1999 Lemond Alpe D'Huez that probably has 500 or less miles on it and hasn't really been ridden in about a year. i've test ridden it and it definitely fits, my question is: does anyone know what i should be paying for it? i believe that it is with the components that it came with from the factory (campangola), look pedals, mavic wheels. the guy says he paid $1000 spring of 1999 and it was marked down. he wants $900, the highest i'm willing to pay is $800. its a sweet ride. its aluminum with a carbon fork. can anyone help? thanks|

|He wants too much. Put it this way, $900 is what I'm asking for a 1999 Ultegra equipped Litespeed.
The used bike market is soft, and 105-equipped al frames are, frankly, a dime a dozen. Even good ones with low miles. This bike is worth about $500.

|typically 40%-50% of original cost is a good rule of thumb depending on condition. Yes, it has low miles but its still 3 years old. In your post you said the bike is Al - isn't the Alpe D'Huez a steel bike? I would not go too much higher than $500|| |
