After buying this tube, i have now discovered that it was made only to be fitted vertically on the seat tube. This is kind of messed up as most people have two water bottles and one of them occupies the very same spot. The welding at the valve end of the tube makes it damn nearly impossible to attach it to the top tube. Anyone figure out an easy way of attaching it to the top tube (without resulting to Velcro straps)?

it kinda fits on my top tube (c'dale), but it just didn't seem snug enough so I did end up with velcro.

so i guess 'no' is the answer i have for you. :)

There used to be an accessory called, believe it or not, a "dohickey." It was a clamp on device that had an "L" shaped finger for mounting a frame pump under the top tube of a bike that didn't have a frame pump peg.
Second the Doohickey; also...Silverback

You used to be able to buy clamp-on plastic pump pegs (I'm assuming your frame doesn't have one; my bike does but the top tube's too long for the longest Zefal). They had an unobtrusive black band that went around the TT near the head tube. Might check a few shops.

Thanks all. Problem solved. It was the literature that was leading me astray. I have the right size and it mounts easily under the top tube.
