Fuji bikes--worth the priceSeanD

I'm a mountain biker looking for a road bike. I've found 1999 Fuji Roubaix that's for sale used for $450. (Retail was about $1100.) It's aluminum and has 105 components and sounds like it's in good shape. I just don't know anything about Fujis. Nobody locally sells them. It's all Cannondale, Trek, and Specialized. Can anyone give me advice? The seller says the bike has about 4,000 miles on it and has never been dropped. I figure I'll ride only about 60 miles/week. Thanks for the help.

I have 2 Fuji Teams. One is a '99 with full Ultegra. It was a good bike until recently. I have several creaky noises, but all are component related. The frame is good - light and stiff. Great climber. I just bought a 2001 Team frame of Ebay, and built it with Dura Ace. It seems very nice. No problem with the Fuji name. The Roubaix is a tad heavy 'cause it is steel, but should also make it comfortable too. Check out the reviews on older Roubaix's.

sounds like a pretty good deal. does that include pedals? for only 60 miles per week & if it is in your budget I'd say go for it. oh, make sure it fits, too.

I'm a mtn biker who bought a Fuji Finest AL new a few months back. It fits, rides nice, doesnt wear me out on 20-30 mile rides, and it looks decent. I replaced the pedals and hubs/rims, otherwise its stock. I am very pleased with it so far.

my regular ride is a cannondale f500, upgraded to XT where it had only deore, replaced the pedals and rear rim.

the fuji sounds like a fair deal
