I have a carbon frame with aluminum lugs. Can the paint be safely removed without damaging the carbon or the bonding to the lugs? What about the painted carbon fork?
Don't use paint stripper.......airbrushbikes

Sand it down till u see the carbon instead. Paint Stripper will shorten and weaken carbon lifespan.
Whats next after that?sctri

If you cut any of the carbon fibers you are damaging the structure. Paint stripper will not just shorten or weaken the carbon but kill it. If you choose this route you can't clear coat it, you will have to re-paint it.
