Who surfs MTBR as well as this site here. I enjoy riding singletrack as much as I do riding my roadbike. OK confess!
I enjoy them both equally also.(nm)IRIE

Been doing it for months, and enjoy both. Higher level of discourse over here, though....

...is WD-40 a lube, or anything involving Cannondale. Also, though we have our share of jackasses on this site (me included perhaps), MTBR takes it up a notch.

Good times, good times...

I've never been to mtbr but I'll check it out. I do however, ride both Campy 10 and DA 9 and have a MAC and a PC!!!!
Now that's naughty! (nm)Crankist

Although I don't know that I'd say either board has a higher level of discourse. At mtbr you have discussions about who has the biggest shock, and here you have discussion about who has the coolest matching jersey/bike combo - both topics being equally inane.
are you kidding? those MTBR guys have the funniest argumentslonefrontranger

the trolls on this board pale in comparison.

I have 2 road bikes, a cross bike, a fixed-gear retro grouch delight, I'm building a dualie MTB for cross country racing, and I recently procured one of the more unique rides to this board I'd imagine: a 20" Mongoose BMX dirt jumper.

As far as my bikes go, they are all multi-use as far as I'm concerned. I have ridden my road bikes in the dirt, the 'cross bike on singletrack, the MTB as an errand bike downtown, my fixie in fresh snow on the bike path, and I plan to take the BMX as a utility cruiser at the next crit since IME Speedplays and sandals don't mix. It'll be fun to see the puzzled looks when I drop off a pair of 700c wheels in the pit while riding something with grind pegs.

I still have an old gt pro freestyle tour from waaaaaay back. Never did any dirt jumping with it, mostly flatland and the occasional ditch riding with my skateboarding housemates in college.

Actually cleaned it up and tried to re-learn some flatland tricks last summer, and toyed with the idea of visiting a skatepark, but decided that I'd feel weird showing up at a place where everyone else was 10-15 years younger than me :( I was kinda surprised that even though I was never very good, the few flatland tricks that I used to be able to do just came right back.

The depressing thing is that the gyro is shot, and I couldn't easily replace it because sometime over the 4-5 years when I didn't really ride it the "standard" head tube size for bmx/fs bikes changed. doh! But I'm hanging onto it, I pretty much lived on that bike and it's predecessor (whose frame cracked) in high school and college... it was my fun bike, I'd ride to class on my cheap-o mtb, then hop on this to have fun.

been visiting MTBR even before there was RBR. Back then RBR was just a discussion board on MTBR. I look at both almost every day. I post more on RBR, mainly because I have a longer history road riding but also because the demographics on RBR suit me better.

We go both ways all the time.

Road and mountian riding and raceing and this year will try some cyclocross. The handeling skills you can take into road riding and the lungs and legs you can take into mountian riding. The variety keeps everyhting interesting.

... I don't get to ride my MTB as much as I did in California, and I rarely take the cruiser in the dirt these days because I'm hoping to keep riding it ANOTHER 31 years. I'm riding about 95% road now.

I used to post regularly on the Singlespeed forum, and did so a couple of weeks ago for old time's sake.

I do enjoy a nice trail ride when I get the chance, and would like to ride the cruiser down the entire C&O towpath one day soon.

kinda funny to surf both, some real trolls on both. It is amusing to see some of the silly responses when it gets really heated up, don't know which is funnier, here or MTBR.
