There is a Great 4 day stage race every year in Vt. I was hoping some of you might be there. I race every weekend and only have I met one person from RBR. I will be in the cat 4 under 30 group. I am hoping my finish will put me in the cat 3. In anycase, I used tolive on the course and know it by hert. If you have any questions let me know. I can tell you were to stay, etc.
Thanks for the info...jtferraro

I'd be interested in checking it out and cheering you on! Where in VT, and when? You certainly sound like you have an advantage since you lived on the course! Cat 3 here you come! ;-)

thegmbc.com is the official website. But there are alot of details they do not include in the flyer. So, if you sign up email me and I can tell you everything. Its alot of fun to race for four days and the roads are better than NH,Mass and Iam guessing NY city as well. But they are not as good as say the south east roads. In anycase a short summary:

stage1: All out effort up a 2.5 mile climb. The climb is steep as hell at the bottom but levels out several imes before the top. It will be an uphill sprint finish. And I better win! (lol)
stage2: Pretty easy circuit race with a good 2mile climb and a 4mile prett fast but not to steep descent. There is a dirt road thats about a mile long that wll be tough if you dont ride on dit roads. There is a small hill in ad the field always bunches there. No worries though you can catch up to them since they ease up a bit before the last false flat for a dublelane sprint finish. I wont win here.
Stage 3: OOOLALA Very fast early but controlled descent. then rollers, rollers rollers until the Middlebary Gap. Its really about a 4 mile climb but its the last 2 that hurt. Feed zone at the top the a 9.5 mile descent of which the first 2 miles are super fast and sharp turns. You have to make the break to the field by the end of the 9 miles!! Or its going to be a longer day than you want. Last turn is really dangerous by the way. Then cool down with the field for some more steep short and steep rollers until you hit a 1/2 mile dirt road at 35mph. 15% of the field will flat here and the wheel truck cant get to you fast enough so dont worry. Then a gradual 9 mile climb of which the last 3 miles are the toughest you will spend on your bike this fall. Steeeeep! I will win! ( lol )before passing out in fornt of all the people I grew up with.
Stage4: Ahhhh, crit in downtown Burlington VT. Great cours. Good hill, lots of turns, lots of people, ok roads, short fast downhill, and the split happens within the first 5 laps. Its hell on wheels
Sounds cool...jtferraro

I'd like to go, check out the scene, and cheer you on. I'm glad it runs from Friday-Monday. Considering I don't have a road bike yet I won't be signing up, though! I've been really wanting to head up to Burlington one of these weekends w/my girlfriend. We both have some friends up in the area and can hopefully capitalize on seeing them and some of this race! Do you live in VT? If so, where?
