The (Chicago) Bears aren't holding their training camp in the mountains, but Brian Urlacher may receive the benefits of training in thin air, which increases red blood cell counts and improves recovery times. A device given to Urlacher by team officials for use in his dorm room on the campus of Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill., will simulate the air at an altitude of 9,500 feet. "I thought, why not try it," Urlacher says. "Track athletes go to higher elevations to train. I may be better because of it, but I will never know. Albuquerque (N.M.), where I went to school, is about 5,500 feet about sea level, and I didn't feel a difference there. But it might help." . . .
