So what's your favourite smoothy recipe?

(excuse me for being an ignorant Aussie, but I assume you guys in the states call them smoothies - you know when you chuck fruit and milk and yoghurt into the blender and see what comes out.)

Orange juice, some strawberries, a bananna, a peach, some non-fat vanilla yogurt, and a big ole scoop of whey protein. Yummy!!!

they like to chuck ice in them over here Geds but they are similar, sometimes they are not made with milk at all. I myself do not put ice in it. Soy milk, banana, tons of ice cream, honey, and then any other fresh fruits, berries are awesome, fresh mangoe too. I also like to have banana with chocolate syrup once in a while for a banana-choco flavour much like the chupa chups you can buy.

What's yours then? Do you sprinkle nutmeg on your banana smoothies? I do it and people think I'm very strange but it tastes good !! Being from Oz, I guess it's just normal for me.
My current favorite is mango bananaKen of Fresno

I know it sounds weird, but peanut butter richens a banana-based smoothie in a very nice way. For tropical fruit smoothies, I like to add almond butter. About one tbsp. per 12 ounces of smoothie. If this is going to be your breakfast, this helps it be more filling.

Fav. recipe -

1 banana (peeled and frozen earlier)
cup or so of blueberries (frozen)
some plain yoghurt
1-2 tbsp. of peanut butter
milk to make the blender turn

Forgot to say that my fav is banana & mango. I've only just bought a blender so am looking at expanding my repertoire

Hi climbo - I don't do nutmeg myself but I do understand, reminds me of custard tarts!! And yes I've noticed the prevalence of ice in the US.

Alex-in-Evanston - yes, peanut butter does sound weird!! To me at least :)

Thanks all for letting me in your kitchens.
