Thanks to everyone for your input on directions. Hey Pecos, We like your idea the best. We've decided to take the ferry. After we get to Manhatten, which way to the race? Is it safe to assume there'll be signs to show the way? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

it's easy. When you get to Manhattan you will be at what is known as South Ferry. The race is a little north east of that point. If it is your first time to NYC you may want to walk up Broadway ( diagonally across from the feryy terminal) to Wall Street. Make a right on Wall. Wall Street is almost exactly midway along the race route. You can see the race route at the following links. Have a great day at the races. I'll be the one with the Tour de Toona t-shirt on so if you happen to see it say hello.
