3 cross vs radial(4 posts)

3 cross vs radialol

I would like to build a pair of 32 spoke wheels for racing and training but I haven't decided whether to go 3 cross or radial. What would be the ideal set up? Advice welcome.

... with a 32 spoke wheel, there wouldn't be any significant weight savings with radial spoking (assuming front wheel... or non driveside rear) but you would probably sacrifice a bit (to a lot) of lateral strength and durability (windup)... go for 3 cross for durability and strength.

We abide.

3 cross will yield a little stronger wheel and you won't risk breaking out your hubs at the eyelets. The weight difference is infintesimal.
Agree with above - 3x good. nmLeisure
