My son is going to school in Savannah. Sounds like it would be a fun ride. (As long as "the bridge" isn't on the route!):) Maybe Tybee Island is part of it? I love all the historic areas.

And the Talmadge Bridge is crossed four-tenths of a mile into the century.

I lived in Savannah for 2 years and can give you some suggestions on places to eat and visit. Savannah is a fantastic place to visit, despite the heat -- which makes me wonder why they scheduled the century for summer (and Sept. 1 is practically mid-summer in Savannah). Spring, fall and winter are beautiful there, but summer is like a steam bath.

Booked the Westin through Priceline/biddingfortravel.com. Fantastic deal. Doing the Sunday ride only. We cheat and leave a few minutes early to avoid the Talmadge carnage.

Is the ride Sept. 1 weekend? I used to live in Savannah and have been looking for a good excuse to visit. IMHO, it's the most beautiful city in the US.
