Knee pain...(4 posts)

Knee pain...DT
Aug 1, 2002 10:31 AM
I recently shipped my bike overseas, and when I put it back together again I guessed on the seat height...I forgot to mark it before I took it apart. I thought I had it about right, but my knees are now pretty sore in front where the tendons meet up with the bone below the kneecap...should I move the seat up or down? How much? Thanks!!

General rule is to move it up if pain is in front of knee, small increments at a time.

If I experience soreness or even pain just above the knee cap, should I raise the seat? Or the seat is too high and need to be adjusted down?

I'm not qualified to advise you on this, but try raising it a bit, but if you get it too high you could have other problems. Stretching exercises before and after a ride can really help relieve knee pain.
